Allen Mincer is a Professor of Physics and Collegiate Professor at New York University, affiliated with the PHY department. His research focuses on experimental elementary particle physics. Mincer holds a Ph.D. from Maryland (College Park) and a B.S. from Brooklyn College. He is recognized for his contributions to high energy particle physics and astrophysics, including work with the ATLAS Collaboration on the discovery of the Higgs boson and observations of TeV gamma-ray emission. He has received numerous awards, including the Breakthrough Prize in Fundamental Physics (2025), the High Energy and Particle Physics Prize of the European Physical Society (2013), and the Teaching Innovation Award from New York University (2024).
