Regular biography
Jesse Liu is an Assistant Professor of Physics at New York University, affiliated with the PHY department. His research focuses on Experimental Elementary Particle Physics, with an emphasis on new physics searches and precise tests of the Standard Model using tau-lepton electromagnetic dipoles and photon collisions. He is involved in the ATLAS Experiment at CERN's Large Hadron Collider and develops next-generation silicon detectors for the High-Luminosity upgrade and beyond. Liu completed his BA at the University of Oxford and MSc at the Perimeter Institute and University of Waterloo before earning his PhD at Oxford. He was a Grainger Fellow at the University of Chicago and Junior Research Fellow at Trinity College, University of Cambridge, prior to joining NYU.
