Gaston Giribet is Clinical Professor of Physics at New York University, Department of PHY. He received a M.Sc. and a Ph.D. in Physics from University of Buenos Aires, and a Ph.D. in Philosophy from Pontifical Catholic University of Argentina. Prior to joining NYU, Giribet was Associate Professor at University of Buenos Aires, Visiting Professor at Free University of Brussels, Research Scientist at New York University, and Member of the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton. His research focuses on string theory and conformal field theory, with applications to black hole physics. One central theme of his research is the study of AdS/CFT holographic correspondence in the stringy regime, i.e. beyond the supergravity approximation.
