Chao Li

Chao Li is an Associate Professor of Mathematics at the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences, New York University. He earned his Ph.D. from Stanford University, advised by Rick Schoen and Brian White, and completed his undergraduate studies in Mathematics at Peking University, mentored by Huijun Fan. His research interests include differential geometry, partial differential equations, and geometric measure theory, with a focus on minimal surfaces, scalar curvature, and mathematical general relativity. His work is supported by the National Science Foundation and a Sloan Research Fellowship. He has published extensively on topics such as stable minimal hypersurfaces, positive scalar curvature metrics, and capillary hypersurfaces.
