Regular biography
Susan Solomon is a Professor in the Department of Chemistry at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her research focuses on atmospheric chemistry and climate change, with a particular emphasis on understanding the causes and impacts of the Antarctic ozone hole. She is internationally recognized for her leadership in atmospheric science and her contributions to the study of chemistry-climate interactions. Solomon's work includes examining the irreversibility of global warming due to anthropogenic carbon dioxide emissions and the influence of the ozone hole on the climate of the southern hemisphere.
