David Dankort is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biology at McGill University. His research focuses on Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology, with an emphasis on understanding how oncogenic mutations contribute to cancer progression. His laboratory investigates the mechanisms by which tumour cells evade growth restraints, particularly in the context of lung cancer and melanoma. Using genetically engineered mouse models and cell culture systems, Dankort's work explores the roles of RAS and BRAF-cooperating genes in malignancy. His research aims to elucidate the causal relationships between genetic alterations and cancer development.
