Ying Wu is a Professor of Physics at Duke University, affiliated with the Physics department. His research interests include nonlinear dynamics of charged particle beams, coherent radiation sources, and the development of novel accelerators and light sources. He focuses on studying charged particle nonlinear dynamics using techniques such as Lie Algebra, Differential Algebra, and Frequency Analysis. Additionally, he investigates and develops coherent radiation sources, including broad-band far infrared radiation from dipole magnets and coherent mm-wave radiation from a free-electron-laser (FEL). His work aims to address beam stability issues and develop diagnostics for light source beams. Wu has contributed to recent publications and grants related to radiation therapy and Compton gamma-ray sources.
