Ayana T. Arce is an Associate Professor of Physics at Duke University, affiliated with the Physics department. Her research focuses on understanding complex particle interactions in hadron collider events, particularly the production and decay of top quarks and heavy gauge bosons, with an emphasis on detecting phenomena beyond the Standard Model of particle physics. She is currently involved in the ATLAS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), contributing to its trigger system and data acquisition efforts. Her work supports the broader experimental program of ATLAS and includes studies on heavy resonances decaying into a photon and a hadronically decaying Higgs boson. Arce has received funding from the Department of Energy, the National Science Foundation, and Brookhaven National Laboratory for her research in high-energy physics.
