Regular biography
Kip Coonley, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor of the Practice in the Thomas Lord Department of Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science at Duke University. He holds a B.S. from Bates College, an M.S. from Dartmouth College, and a Ph.D. from Duke University, completed in 2023. His research interests include microelectronics, mechatronics, and educational innovations in engineering curricula. Coonley teaches courses such as ME 392 and EGR 224L, focusing on undergraduate projects and fundamentals of mechatronics. His work includes publications in conferences and journals related to microelectronic devices, energy harvesting, and educational laboratory design.
