Jian Pei

Jian Pei is the Chair, Arthur S. Pearse Distinguished Professor of Computer Science, Professor of Biostatistics & Bioinformatics, and Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering (Joint) at Duke University. He is affiliated with the Department of Computer Science, Trinity College of Arts & Sciences, and the Department of Biostatistics and Bioinformatics, School of Medicine. His research interests include data science, big data, data mining, database systems, and enterprise data strategies. He is a Fellow of The Royal Society of Canada, The Canadian Academy of Engineering, ACM, and IEEE. Pei recruits Ph.D. students with backgrounds in data science, data mining, databases, data engineering, computational statistics, and their applications in various domains.
