Jie Liu

Jie Liu is the George Barth Geller Distinguished Professor of Chemistry at Duke University, affiliated with the Chemistry department and the Thomas Lord Department of Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science. His research focuses on the chemistry and material science of nanoscale materials, including the self-assembly of nanostructures, functionalization of single-walled carbon nanotubes, and development of carbon nanotube-based sensors. His work also involves scanning probe microscopy-based fabrication and modification of functional nanostructures. Dr. Liu holds a Ph.D. from Harvard University and has a background in chemical and materials science education.
