James S. Clark

James S. Clark is the Nicholas Distinguished Professor of Environmental Science at Duke University's Nicholas School of the Environment and Department of Biology. His research focuses on disturbance and climate controls on ecosystem dynamics through long-term experiments and monitoring studies. Clark is a Fellow of the Ecological Society of America and has received several awards, including the William Skinner Cooper Award and the George Mercer Award. He has authored over 250 refereed scientific articles and four books. Clark has testified before Congress and served on numerous editorial and advisory boards. He is a member of the National Academy of Sciences and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
