Dr. Michael Rung Tsong Lyu is the Choh-Ming Li Professor of Computer Science and Engineering at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He holds a B.Sc. from National Taiwan University, M.Sc. from University of California, Santa Barbara, and Ph.D. from University of California, Los Angeles. His research interests include software engineering, dependable computing, distributed systems, cloud computing, mobile networking, big data, and machine learning. He has participated in over 30 industrial projects and developed numerous commercial systems and software tools. Dr. Lyu has also served as a Technical Staff Member at Jet Propulsion Laboratory and held academic positions at the University of Iowa and Bell Laboratories.
