Weiyang Liu is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. His research interests include Generative AI, Foundation Models, Large Language Models, and related areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Deep Learning, Machine Learning, Data and Software Engineering, Databases, Data Mining, Knowledge Management, and Computer Vision. He leads the Scalable Principles for Learning and Reasoning Lab (SphereLab) at CUHK. Liu holds a Ph.D. in Machine Learning from the University of Cambridge and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He has also worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems and held research positions at Google, Nvidia, and MERL.
