James Cheng is a Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. His research interests include AI Memory & Context Engineering, Long-Running Agents, Agent Performance Benchmarking, Agentic RAG, Vector Compression & Search, Multimodal Search/Generation, High-Performance Systems for Data Analytics, Machine Learning, and Model Inference. He is actively involved in graduate student recruitment and special research opportunities in Embodied AI, including joint projects with industry and academic experts.
