Chunshan SONG

Professor Chunshan Song is a faculty member in the Department of Chemistry at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. He holds the title of Wei Lun Professor of Chemistry and serves as Dean of Science. His research interests include catalysis and chemistry of energy and fuels, CO2 capture, conversion, and utilization, as well as selective adsorption and reforming of hydrocarbon and alcohol for syngas and H2 production. He is a Fellow of the American Chemical Society (ACSF), Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC), and Fellow of the Hong Kong Academy of Engineering (HKAE). Professor Song has held various leadership roles, including Founding Director of the Earth and Environmental Science Programme and Founding Director of the Joint Institute of Advanced Materials and Green Energy Research (JIAMGER).

Chunshan Song is a Dean of Science and Wei Lun Professor of Chemistry at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, specializing in heterogeneous catalysis, CO2 capture, CO2 utilization, energy and fuels, and chemical engineering. His research focuses on developing advanced catalytic processes for sustainable energy and environmental applications, including CO2 hydrogenation to methanol, deep desulfurization of fuels, and the design of high-capacity adsorbents for CO2 capture. His work addresses global challenges in energy conversion, carbon utilization, and clean fuel production, with a strong emphasis on catalytic technologies for sustainable development.
