Cyrus Umrigar

Cyrus Umrigar is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Physics at Cornell University. His research focuses on theoretical condensed-matter physics, with an emphasis on quantum Monte Carlo methods and electronic structure theory. His work includes developing advanced computational techniques for studying electronic correlations in materials, such as quantum dots, semiconductors, and transition metal compounds. He has collaborated with researchers at institutions including Princeton, the University of Paris, and SISSA, Trieste. Umrigar has contributed to the development of the CHAMP program, which is used by collaborators worldwide. He has also been involved in graduate education and has mentored students in his research group.
