Regular biography
Maxim Perelstein is a Professor in the Department of Physics at Cornell University. His research focuses on theoretical elementary particle physics and cosmology, particularly electroweak symmetry breaking and its implications for new physics. He is interested in constructing models of electroweak symmetry breaking and developing strategies to test these models experimentally, with a focus on collider experiments such as the Large Hadron Collider. His work also includes theoretical models for dark energy, dark matter, and inflation, including the study of dark matter candidates like ELDER. He has contributed to research on the Higgs boson, supersymmetry, and machine learning applications in high-energy physics. Perelstein has held various academic positions at Cornell University since 2003 and has been a Professor since 2015.
