Katja Nowack is an Associate Professor in the Department of Physics at Cornell University. Her research focuses on experimental condensed matter physics, particularly low-temperature scanning probe microscopy, including scanning SQUID microscopy, and the development of novel probes for studying quantum materials. She is affiliated with the College of Arts and Sciences and has been an Assistant Professor at Cornell since 2015. Her work involves local imaging of magnetic and electric properties, low-noise transport measurements, and the application of quantum information tools to quantum materials such as topological insulators and complex oxides.
