Regular biography
Thomas Hartman is a Professor in the Department of Physics at Cornell University. His research focuses on quantum gravity and quantum field theory, particularly in the areas of black hole information and strongly interacting quantum fields. He employs techniques from string theory, holographic duality, general relativity, and quantum information to explore these topics. Hartman's work includes investigations into gauge/gravity duality, black hole information paradoxes, and new approaches to quantum field theory. He is affiliated with the College of Arts and Sciences and has been a faculty member at Cornell since 2014, holding the rank of Professor since 2022.
