Regular biography
Paul Ginsparg is a Professor in the Department of Physics at Cornell University. His research interests include theoretical elementary particle physics, quantum field theory, and digital knowledge networks. He has explored community detection in networks using statistical mechanical models and developed algorithms for clustering arXiv.org subject areas. His work also involves quantum computing and quantum information, including simulations of statistical mechanical models on quantum machines. Ginsparg has held various academic and research positions, including at Harvard University and Los Alamos National Laboratory, and has been affiliated with multiple institutions worldwide. He is currently affiliated with Cornell University's Department of Physics and the Computer Science department.
