Julia Thom-Levy

Julia Thom-Levy is the Robert and Angela Biggar Professor of Physics at Cornell University's Department of Physics. Her research focuses on data analysis at the Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) experiment at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN, detector development for particle physics, x-ray science, and electron microscopes, as well as the study of cultural heritage objects using scientific techniques. She is also involved in detector R&D for light sources and electron microscopes, and collaborates with art historians and archaeologists on the scientific study of ancient coins and objects. Her work includes detector operations, upgrades, and data analysis algorithms for the CMS experiment.
