David J. Allstot is a Distinguished Special Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University. He received his B.S.E.S. from the Univ. of Portland (1969), M.S.E.E. from Oregon State Univ. (OSU) (1974), and Ph.D. from the Univ. of California, Berkeley (1979). He has held academic positions including Boeing-Egtvedt Chair Professor of Engineering at the Univ. of Washington (1999-2012), Visiting Professor at Stanford Univ. (2012), and Professor at OSU (2017-2023). He is a Life Fellow of IEEE and a Member of the National Academy of Engineering. His research interests include electrical engineering and related fields.
