Regular biography
Dr Niki Macionis is a Senior Lecturer in Tourism at The University of Queensland's School of Business. She serves as the Program Leader for the Bachelor of Tourism, Hotel and Event Management Program at UQ Business School. Dr Macionis is a Teaching-Focused academic with over twenty-five years of experience in tertiary education. Her research interests include student experiences, career paths of teaching-focused academics, and innovative teaching practices such as gamification. She teaches undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Service Management and Leadership and Principles of the International Tourism System. Dr Macionis is also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and co-chairs the Teaching and Learning Special Interest Group within the Council of Australasian University Tourism and Hospitality Educators (CAUTHE).
