Dr Ya-Yen Sun

Dr Ya-Yen Sun is an Associate Professor in the School of Business at The University of Queensland. Her research focuses on tourism sustainability, particularly tourism economic impacts and environmental footprinting. She uses input-output modelling to assess the economic effects of tourism policy changes, market development, and disasters, and quantifies tourism carbon and water footprints. Dr Sun has published in leading journals such as Nature Climate Change and Tourism Management. She is currently leading an Australian Research Council Discovery Project to establish a global tourism carbon emissions database. Her work involves collaborations with federal and local administrations in countries such as Taiwan, Indonesia, and the United States.
