Regular biography
Dr Katie Meissner is a Lecturer in the School of Business at The University of Queensland. Her research interests include post-disaster resilience, financial and social exclusion from insurance, the social role of weather disaster protection in a climate changed future, cross-sector partnerships, and public engagement processes. She completed her PhD in Environmental Communication at UQ in 2020, examining public participation in environmental decision-making. Dr Meissner has taught at UQ since 2018, covering management, strategy, and sustainability subjects. Prior to her PhD, she worked in communication roles across various industries. She is available for supervision and media enquiries.
