Regular biography
Dr Sue McAvoy is a Senior Research Fellow in the School of Business at The University of Queensland, affiliated with the Centre for the Business and Economics of Health. Her research focuses on systems thinking and system dynamics, with applications in healthcare service delivery and complex problem-solving. She has contributed to policy development through systems thinking workshops, influencing initiatives such as Queensland's nursing and midwifery ratios. Dr McAvoy holds a PhD, an MBA, and degrees in econometrics and economics from The University of Queensland, and is an alumna of Oxford Said Business School and London Business School. Her work emphasizes collaborative approaches to address systemic challenges in healthcare and industry.
