Dr Gemma Irving is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Business at The University of Queensland. Her research focuses on hybrid work, collaboration, learning, and professional work, with an emphasis on how physical and virtual environments influence workplace experiences. She explores the tensions between flexibility and collaboration in hybrid settings and investigates ways to enhance serendipity in online environments. Dr Irving is a founding member of the Next Generation Workspace Research Network and teaches a large introductory management course. Her work has been recognized with awards for teaching and student engagement, and she has contributed to industry projects on workspace design and management practices.
