Associate Professor Frederik von Briel is an Associate Professor in Strategy and Entrepreneurship at the UQ Business School, where he co-leads the Emerging Technology Research Hub. His research explores how changes in the business environment, such as technological advances, crises, and regulatory shifts, influence strategic choices and outcomes for organizations. He investigates how firms create and capture value by leveraging external change rather than merely responding to it. His work spans various sectors, including digital and emerging technologies, crises, and entrepreneurship in challenging environments. Before joining The University of Queensland, he was a Senior Research Fellow at QUT Business School. He holds a PhD from City University of Hong Kong and has collaborated with organizations such as Woolworths Ltd and various start-ups and fintech firms.
