Regular biography
Roger Jones is a Professor in the Department of Physics at The University of Manchester. His research interests include VHEE FLASH radiotherapy, accelerator physics, and beam electrodynamics. He has contributed to the understanding of large-scale colliders and small semi-portable accelerators. His work involves simulation, analysis, and measurement of collective effects, beam dynamics, wakefields, and higher order mode analysis for various facilities such as CLIC, the LHC, ILC, and XFELs. He is also involved in beam impedance issues for FP420/LHC and beam dynamics and cavity RF issues for the HIE-Isolde facility at CERN. Jones has previously held leadership roles at the Cockcroft Institute of Science and Technology and has collaborated with institutions such as DESY, CERN, and SLAC.
