Philip Diamond is a Professor of Astrophysics in the School of Physics and Astronomy at The University of Manchester. His research focuses on star-formation, stellar evolution, starburst galaxies, supernovae, and the environments of super-massive black-holes, primarily using radio interferometry techniques with facilities such as MERLIN and VLBI. He has supervised several doctoral students and contributed to significant research outputs, including studies on masers and interferometry. Diamond has also served as the Director-General of the Square Kilometre Array since 2012.
