Peter Roberts

Dr Peter Roberts is a Reader in Spacecraft Engineering at The University of Manchester, Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. His research focuses on spacecraft systems engineering, dynamics of spacecraft interactions with the atmosphere, orbital aerodynamics, and space debris mitigation. He has developed technologies for drag reduction in very low Earth orbits and has led projects such as the Icarus drag sail and the Satellite for Orbital Aerodynamics Research (SOAR). His work has been funded by various organizations including the European Commission, the UK Space Agency, and the European Space Agency. Dr Roberts is also involved in postgraduate research opportunities and has contributed to numerous research outputs and collaborations.
