Regular biography
Qingming Li is a Professor of Applied Mechanics in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at The University of Manchester. His research interests include impact engineering, structural crashworthiness, high strain-rate behaviour of engineering materials, penetration mechanics, and the mechanics of cellular and composite materials. Dr. Li holds a BSc and MSc in Mechanics from Peking University, a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Liverpool, and a higher doctorate (DEng) from the same institution. He has been affiliated with Taiyuan University of Technology and Nanyang Technological University prior to joining The University of Manchester. He is also an Adjunct Professor at Beijing Institute of Technology. Dr. Li leads the Impact & Explosion Research Group and has contributed to numerous peer-reviewed publications in applied mechanics.
