Dr Samantha Islam is a Lecturer in Engineering for Net Zero in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at The University of Manchester. Her research focuses on developing data-driven approaches to design low-carbon and circular industrial systems, with particular emphasis on sustainable manufacturing, resource efficiency, and supply chain transparency. Dr Islam has led a project funded by AMPI at Manchester University on developing digital twin for a novel biocomposite production system. Her doctoral research explored how data transparency tools—particularly traceability and IoT technologies—can improve sustainability, accountability, and decision-making in production systems and supply chains.
