Antonino Filippone is a Professor of Computational Aerodynamics at The University of Manchester, Department of Mechanical Engineering. His research focuses on aerodynamics for airborne systems and flight physics, including rotor systems, gas turbines aerothermodynamics, and environmental emissions. He is also interested in aircraft noise and acoustics, flight mechanics, and high-performance computing. Prof. Filippone's work involves the development of computational methods and their application to real-world cases, with a particular emphasis on propulsion systems and environmental impact. He is the author of three textbooks on aircraft and rotorcraft flight performance and holds a Chair in Computational Aerodynamics. He is a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society and the Institute of Mechanical Engineers.
