Marco Domingos

Marco Domingos is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Mechanical, Aerospace and Civil Engineering at The University of Manchester. His research focuses on bioprinting and regenerative medicine, with an emphasis on developing advanced biomaterials and biofabrication strategies for applications in tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. He holds a PhD in mechanical engineering from the University of Girona and a Bachelor's and Master's in mechanical engineering from the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria. Domingos has contributed to numerous research projects and has authored or co-authored over 50 publications. He is also a principal investigator at the Henry Royce Institute and holds visiting professorial positions at several institutions.

Marco Domingos is a researcher at The University of Manchester with a focus on additive manufacturing and bioprinting technologies for tissue engineering applications. His work explores the fabrication of scaffolds using materials such as poly(ε-caprolactone) (PCL), polycaprolactone/PLA blends, and hydrogels, with an emphasis on improving mechanical properties, cell adhesion, and biocompatibility. He investigates the impact of process parameters on scaffold morphology and functionality, as well as the potential of unsaturated polyesters and hydroxyapatite-based nanocomposites in biomedical applications. His research also extends to 3D bioprinting for creating neurovascular units and personalized medicine solutions.
