Mengqi Bai is a Lecturer in Advanced Nuclear Reactor Technology at The University of Manchester, Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. Her research focuses on advanced modular reactor systems, including reactor core design, molten salt technologies, and nuclear hybrid systems integrated with thermal energy storage. She has led and secured competitive research funding through collaborations with industry and government partners, contributing to innovations in low-carbon energy solutions. Her teaching includes MSc-level courses in Reactor Physics and Thermal Hydraulics, along with student supervision and nuclear software training. She is committed to fostering an inclusive, research-driven learning environment and advancing multidisciplinary research at the intersection of nuclear engineering and sustainable energy.
