Olivier Allegre is a Lecturer in the Department of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering at The University of Manchester. His research focuses on laser-material processing and modification, utilizing advanced control techniques such as optical beam modulation to tailor materials microstructures and characteristics. He specializes in high-power and ultrashort-pulse laser beam shaping to control laser interactions. Allegre has a background in precision motion control, optics design, and microscopy. He joined the University of Manchester after completing a PhD in advanced control of laser beam wavefront and polarisation for micro-manufacturing.
