Regular biography
Ravi K. Sheth is a Professor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Pennsylvania. His research focuses on cosmology, galaxy formation, and stochastic processes. He has contributed significantly to the development of the Halo Model, a standard framework for interpreting data from galaxy and cluster surveys. His work includes studies on nonlinear clustering, biasing, and the environmental dependence of halo formation. Sheth has also explored the implications of tidal fields on the cosmic web and has developed methods for cosmological reconstruction using optimal transport. He has taught a variety of courses at Penn and has given lectures at numerous international institutions. His research has been published in leading journals such as the Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society and Physical Review Letters.
