Regular biography
Jay Kikkawa is a Professor in the Department of Physics at the University of Pennsylvania. His research focuses on hard condensed matter, particularly spin and orbital magnetism in systems ranging from molecules to nanomaterials. His work involves developing new optical spectroscopy techniques to study dynamic properties of materials, including time-resolved investigations of magnetic and electronic phenomena. Kikkawa has contributed to advancements in ultrafast spectroscopy, nanotube magnetometry, and exciton dynamics.
