Regular biography
Nader Engheta is a Professor at the University of Pennsylvania, affiliated with the Department of Physics. His research interests include optics, photonics, metamaterials, electrodynamics, microwaves, nano-optics, graphene photonics, imaging and sensing inspired by animal species, microwave and optical antennas, and the physics and engineering of fields and waves. He holds a primary appointment in the School of Engineering and Applied Science and a secondary appointment in the Department of Physics and Astronomy. Engheta's work has been recognized with numerous awards, including the 2020 Isaac Newton Medal and Prize, the 2020 Max Born Award, and the 2015 Vannevar Bush Faculty Fellowship. He is also a Fellow of multiple international scientific societies.
