Regular biography

TAKATSU Asuka is a professor in the Graduate School of Mathematical Sciences at The University of Tokyo. Her research focuses on geometric analysis, particularly from the viewpoint of optimal transport. She examines the curvature of Riemannian manifolds and metric measure spaces using optimal transport theory. Her work includes studies on the convergence of combinatorial Ricci flows, isoperimetric profiles, and spectral convergence of high-dimensional spheres. She has published extensively in top mathematical journals and has received awards such as the Kiyoshi Oka Prize for Young Women in Mathematics (2017) and the JJIAM Best Paper Award (2023).
