Regular biography
Yasuhito Miyamoto is a professor at the Graduate School of Mathematical Sciences, The University of Tokyo, where he is affiliated with the Department of Mathematics. His research focuses on the structure of nonlinear partial differential equations of elliptic and parabolic type, particularly examining the number of solutions and their properties, such as shape and Morse index. Miyamoto's work addresses phenomena in both natural and social sciences, with a particular emphasis on nonlinear PDEs exhibiting interesting mathematical behavior. His publications include studies on connecting orbits, instability criteria, and global branches of non-radially symmetric solutions. He has received several awards, including the JSIAM Best Author Prize and the MSJ Takebe Katahiro Prize.
