Vijay Dhir, Ph.D., is a Distinguished Professor at the University of California, Los Angeles, affiliated with the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering department. His research interests include two-phase heat transfer, boiling and condensation, thermal and hydrodynamic stability, thermal hydraulics of nuclear reactors, microgravity heat transfer, and soil remediation. He has contributed to notable publications and books, including 'Phase Change Heat Transfer' and several journal articles on topics such as nucleate pool boiling, holographic interferometric studies, and fluid-elastic instability. Dr. Dhir is a Fellow of the American Nuclear Society and a member of the National Academy of Engineering. His work has been recognized with the 2013 John J. Guarrera Engineering Educator of the Year Award.
