Greg Carman, Ph.D., is a Distinguished Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the University of California, Los Angeles. He is also affiliated with the Materials Science and Engineering department. Carman serves as Director of the Center for Translational Applications of Nanoscale Multiferroic Systems (TANMS) and holds the Ben Rich-Lockheed Martin Chair in Advanced Aerospace Technologies. His research focuses on nanoscale multiferroic materials, piezoelectric materials, magnetostrictive materials, thin film shape memory alloys, and fiber optic sensors.
