Fiona A. Harrison is the Harold A. Rosen Professor of Physics at the California Institute of Technology, in the Division of Physics, Mathematics and Astronomy. Her research focuses on observational and experimental high-energy astrophysics, including studies of black holes, neutron stars, and other energetic phenomena using the NuSTAR telescope and other X-ray and gamma ray facilities. She also develops new detectors, optics, and missions for NASA. Harrison's work includes the Ultraviolet Explorer (UVEX) project, which aims to follow up gravitational wave events and explore low-mass galaxies.
