Yi Ni is a Professor of Mathematics at the California Institute of Technology, affiliated with the Division of Physics, Mathematics and Astronomy. His research focuses on Low Dimensional Geometry and Topology, including Heegaard Floer homology, Gauge theory, Symplectic Geometry, Khovanov homology, hyperbolic geometry, combinatorial topology, geometric group theory, foliations and laminations, and dynamics. Ni holds a B.S. from Peking University, an M.S. from Peking University, and a Ph.D. from Princeton University. He was an Assistant Professor at Caltech from 2009 to 2015 and became a Professor in 2015. His work can be explored further on his personal website.
