Matthias Flach

Matthias Flach is a Professor of Mathematics at the California Institute of Technology, affiliated with the Division of Physics, Mathematics and Astronomy. His research focuses on arithmetic algebraic geometry, particularly special values of L-functions and conjectures of Bloch, Beilinson, Deligne, Bloch-Kato, as well as Galois module theory and motivic cohomology. His work includes contributions to the equivariant Tamagawa number conjecture and the development of Weil-etale cohomology. Flach has also explored cohomology of topological groups, algebraic K-theory, and categorical algebra.
