David J. Anderson

David J. Anderson is the Seymour Benzer Professor of Biology and Tianqiao and Chrissy Chen Institute for Neuroscience Leadership Chair at the California Institute of Technology. He is also an Investigator at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute and Director of the Tianqiao and Chrissy Chen Institute for Neuroscience. His research focuses on understanding how emotional behaviors, such as fear, anxiety, and aggression, are encoded in the brain through specific neuronal circuits. Using model systems like mice and Drosophila, his laboratory investigates the structure and function of these circuits and their potential role in psychiatric disorders.
