Haimei Helen Zhao

Dr Haimei Helen Zhao is a Research Fellow at The University of Sydney, School of Biomedical Engineering. Her research focuses on computer vision, pattern recognition, deep learning, and multimedia computation. She works under the supervision of Professor Lining (Arnold) Ju on digital health solutions for cardiovascular disease prediction and prevention. Dr Zhao completed her PhD in Computer Science at the University of Sydney's Sydney Artificial Intelligence Centre in 2024, with a focus on robust multimodal perception and generative AI for autonomous systems. Her current projects include SmartClot-AI, a rapid blood coagulation testing platform for AI-assisted diagnostics. She has authored 19 peer-reviewed publications across top-tier venues including CVPR, NeurIPS, IJCV, AAAI, ECCV, ACS Sensors, and Advanced Materials. Dr Zhao also holds multiple patents related to biomedical devices and AI technologies.
